v3.5.0.1 - Control how screen share is fit into viewer's window

This version adds the ability for you as a presenter to change the way your screen share is fit into your viewer’s window or device screen.

The available options are:

  1. Shrink to fit width if needed. This was the previous fit behavior and continues to be the default. With this fit behavior, CrankWheel shows your screen share at actual size if the viewer's window is large enough but otherwise scales it down so that it uses the full width of your viewer's window or screen. Your viewer may need to scroll up/down.
  2. Shrink to fit height if needed. This also shows at actual size if possible, but otherwise scales down the size of your screen share so that it uses the full height of your viewer's window or screen, but your viewer may need to scroll left/right.
  3. Shrink to fit within both height and width. This also shows at actual size if possible, otherwise scales down your screen share so that all of it fits within your viewer's window or screen, with no scrolling required.
  4. Show at 100% size without regard for the viewer's window size. Your viewer will potentially need to scroll both left/right and up/down depending on their window or screen size.

For all fit modes, you can tell which part of your screen share is visible within the viewer's window or screen by looking at your preview pane, where the visible part is highlighted. For the "shrink to fit within both height and width" mode, your viewer should always see all of your screen share.

Note that for viewers on certain very old browsers, CrankWheel will always show your screen share at 100% size, and your choice of fit mode will not take effect. These browsers have become very rare, so most likely you will not encounter this.

In addition to the new fit mode feature, this version adds an API for customers who embed CrankWheel within an iframe, and adds options that our support team can set for customers who require them for whether to highlight the presenter's mouse cursor, whether to show the top bar within a screen share, and for how long user authentication should last before requiring a new email with PIN (the default is 30 days as it has been).
