Windows 10 - sharing full screen, viewer sees blank screen, starting early November 2019

We're not sure of the root cause of this one, but some time early November 2019, a number of CrankWheel users reported seeing symptoms where they would share full screen, their viewers would only see a blank screen, but sharing a browser tab would work.

While the underlying cause is not found, there was no change to the CrankWheel platform during the dates where symptoms started. We suspect it may possibly have to do with an automatic update of Windows 10.

Workaround

A workaround for this, which multiple users have confirmed works, is to uninstall CrankWheel, then reinstall it, as follows:

  1. Right-click the CrankWheel button
  2. Choose "Remove from Chrome" and confirm
  3. Visit http://bit.ly/crankwheelext and click "Add to Chrome" and confirm
