How can I use CrankWheel with a PowerPoint presentation?

There are a couple of ways to achieve this:

The first is a bit simpler but has the limitation that you will not see the CrankWheel control panel while you do your presentation:

  1. Start a CrankWheel meeting, and before you start the slideshow in PowerPoint, start sharing the full screen where the slides will show, and get your viewer(s) connected.
  2. Start the slideshow in PowerPoint.
  3. Your viewer(s) will see the slides from the screen being shared.

The second lets you see the CrankWheel control panel, but is not compatible with slide decks that use a lot of animations and stuff like that:

  1. Open the CrankWheel control panel, click the top bar of the control panel window, and hold down Shift. One of the buttons at the top will change to "Choose and crop" and you should select that option.
  2. Select your PowerPoint window and click 'Share'.
  3. You will be shown a snapshot of your screen. Highlight just the area occupied by the slide content in the PowerPoint window and then confirm.
  4. Now add your viewer(s) and instead of starting a slideshow, you can navigate between slides as if you were going to edit them. Your viewer(s) will see only the area of the PowerPoint window that you highlighted, i.e. only the slide content.
